  • We recommend arriving 15 minutes before the start at the SCHIRN.

  • The guides and participants of the respective tour meet on the first floor of the SCHIRN.

  • Reservations are not possible. Tickets for the respective events are available online, unless otherwise specified for a particular date.

  • Yes, a tour specifically designed for children focusing on the themes and works of the exhibition sparks imagination, piques curiosity, and creates a desire for more. After the exhibition visit, colors, chalk, and other materials are available. In a workshop, which always relates thematically to the respective exhibition, children can then become active and creatively capture their impressions.

    SCHIRN STUDIO
    Designed as an ongoing workshop offering, individual course blocks provide the opportunity for in-depth engagement with concepts, methods, media, and techniques of visual art. The thematic units – three consecutive sessions for children aged 6-9 and 9-12, and teenagers aged 12-15, as well as six sessions for teenagers aged 15-19 – inspire and encourage new ideas and unconventional ways of thinking and expression.

  • How much does entry cost for families?
    Family tickets can be purchased at the SCHIRN ticket desk on-site. The family ticket is valid for one to two adults and their children up to and including 17 years old. Ticket prices vary depending on the exhibition. You can find the current entry prices here.

    Children from the age of 5 can celebrate their birthday in the MINISCHIRN every Thursday.

  • On weekends, children can explore the new play and discovery module on their own while their parents visit the SCHIRN exhibitions. For children’s groups from daycare (Kita), after-school care (Hort), and elementary school, as well as for children’s birthday parties, the MINISCHIRN can be booked individually during the week with advance registration.

    Admission is free for children of visitors with a valid exhibition ticket, for members of the SCHIRN FREUNDE, and for members of the KinderKunstKlub of SCHIRN, Städel, and Liebieghaus. Visitor numbers are limited; birthday parties: max. 10 children (no exclusive use).

    MINIMAKE
    Every Saturday, 2–6 PM

    MINIMAKE is an innovative, open workshop format offered by MINISCHIRN that opens up creative spaces of experience for children and their companions. As a low-threshold, inclusive offering, MINIMAKE is aimed at children from daycare age onward, as well as their adult companions such as parents, grandparents, or other caregivers. The focus is on joint exploration, creating, learning, and experiencing. The combination of analog and digital forms of expression allows for novel aesthetic experiences and opens up new learning worlds for children with cultural, technical, and social relevance. The workshops also draw on themes from SCHIRN’s current exhibitions, enabling playful learning within the exhibition context.

    Admission costs 5€ per person (required for both child and companion). MINIMAKE is designed for children aged 4 to 9. Younger siblings are warmly welcome at our family afternoons, held every Wednesday. Participant numbers are limited. Tickets for MINIMAKE can be booked here.

    FAMILY AFTERNOON
    Every Wednesday, children accompanied by a companion can visit the MINISCHIRN. For children from age 4 through elementary school age. Visits are possible within two time slots: 2–4 PM and 4–6 PM. The length of stay is tied to the time slot.

    Admission costs 5€ per person (required for both child and companion); siblings under 4 are admitted free. Younger siblings are warmly welcome, but please note that the toys provided are only suitable for children aged 3 and up. Please supervise your children responsibly and ensure age-appropriate use of the toys. Tickets for the family afternoon can be booked here.

    The FAN TICKET, 15€ (includes 3 visits to the MINISCHIRN), can be purchased at the SCHIRN box office during regular opening hours.
