Manuel Mairhofer read German Studies and Philology, Philosophy and Art History in Innsbruck, Vienna, and Berlin and studied Acting at Berlin’s Fritz Kirchhoff Schule in Berlin and at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.

 

He works as an actor for theater, film, and TV, and has taken part in productions for the ORF, ARD, and ZDF TV stations and for Netflix. He most recently took to the stage in a premiere at Salzburg’s Landestheater. Alongside acting, Mairhofer is also a member of the Elfriede Jelinek interuniversity research association where he works on language, performativity and artistic enquiry. He was the producer of the movie “Zwölferleitn” (director: Fentje Hanke), which premiered at the Diagonale in Graz. His artistic praxis can be situated along the interface of literature, theater, and film, between body, text, and identity.
