Aaliyah Lauterkranz (she/her) studies art history, sociology and American studies at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.
She also works as a freelance art educator and author. Previously, Aaliyah coordinated a publication project between theARTicle and Atelier Goldstein, was artistic assistant to James Gregory Atkinson, and moderated artist talks with Grada Kilomba. Her writing, which focuses on ontologies and art production from Africa and its diaspora, has appeared in the official catalogue of the Biennale für Freiburg and Contemporary And. She is currently working on the launch of her first blog, 4opacity, which will shed light on decolonial perspectives in and on art by combining academic and creative writing.
