Art After Work: Paper Patterns

In his large-format paintings, Thomas Bayrle uses the repetition of individual motifs to create the illusion of three-dimensionality. After a tour of the artist’s exhibition, participants will, in a relaxed group setting, create their own three-dimensional paper objects as a practical way of engaging with what they have seen. Various serial folding techniques, such as the traditional Miura-ori, will be used. Suitable for beginners.

To round off the evening, wine or non-alcoholic drinks will be served.

The SCHIRN presents a major solo exhibition of Frankfurt-based artist Thomas Bayrle. At the heart of the show are works from the past 15 years, complemented by pieces from the 1960s and 1970s that laid the innovative foundation for his characteristic “super forms.”
