Homeland versus diaspora, human versus nature, and how we handle the planet’s resources are at the core of Stephanie Comilang’s (b. 1980) multilayered narratives. The artist an filmmaker examines experiences of migration and explores the themes of economy, work, technology, and postcolonial interrelations in a global context. In her “science fiction documentaries,” she interweaves history with fictional elements, personal experiences with the stories of her protagonists.

“Just really connecting histories, timelines, people and places – that’s how I make work.”
