SUMMER HANGOUT
The SCHIRN invites you to its popular Summer Hangouts, featuring live music in a relaxed, open-air setting in the courtyard. There will also be chilled drinks and a selection of snacks from Café B
Public guided tour at 7 pm of the current exhibition “The World Through AI” for holders of a standard exhibition ticket; the exhibition will remain open until 10 pm on this evening.
To kick things off, in collaboration with the 2og:dondorf jazz series, visitors can look forward to live music from Reverse Avalanche, the new live electronic experiment by Jan Ove Hennig, aka Kabuki.
An electronic circuit on the verge of collapse. Tension builds, discharges, and the process begins anew. Unpredictable. Volatile. Such a circuit is known as a ‘reverse avalanche’ – the namesake for the project, in which the only constant is change. For each performance, he invites a different musical accomplice who is willing to embark on the experiment. For this concert, it is the drummer Leon Raum. The Frankfurt-based sound explorer Jan Ove Hennig embraces the chaos of his modular synthesiser monolith, making unpredictability his creative partner. Loss of control as a compositional principle – a musical tightrope walk without a safety net. The concert thus becomes an experimental setup: what happens when musicians surrender to total unpredictability? Reverse Avalanche invites you on a journey into the unknown.
