Having discovered fantastical creatures such as the silver phoenix and the mysterious sphinx in the exhibition, we ask ourselves: Which magical creature would I like to turn into, and why? What superpower does my creature have, and what is it particularly good at? In the workshop, we’ll create our own masks using a variety of materials and slip into the role of our very own fantasy creatures.
In autumn 2026, the SCHIRN is presenting the first major exhibition on Leonor Fini in Germany. Around 100 works, including paintings, drawings, photographs and objects, will offer a comprehensive insight into the artist’s fascinating body of work. Influenced by the Renaissance, Symbolism, German Romanticism and magical Surrealism, Fini developed a distinctive visual language that bridges the realms of dream, myth and fantasy.
