ART TALENTS

Outreach project by the SCHIRN in collaboration with the Städel Museum and the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung

What does it mean to be artistically talented? Which materials inspire our creativity? How can art help us better understand ourselves? And what can a work of art reveal about its creators?

These and other questions are at the heart of the ART TALENTS project, jointly organized by the Städel Museum, the Liebieghaus, and the SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT. Young people with a strong artistic talent engage with materials, techniques, and their own creative ideas.

ART TALENTS is aimed at young people whose exceptional artistic talents should be nurtured beyond the school or family environment. Participants are nominated for the program by their teachers. Admission is determined through an entrance assessment that includes both practical and theoretical tasks. Curiosity, a strong interest in creative processes, and a desire for artistic expression are essential prerequisites.

ART TALENTS is back for 2025/26

Over the course of a one-year program, participants get to know the three participating institutions, gain insights into art historical contexts, and explore a variety of artistic forms of expression. Guided by an art educator and a professional artist, they refine their perception in both theory and practice while developing their own works. Originality, a spirit of experimentation, and personally meaningful themes are at the heart of the program.

Application

Through continuous engagement with art, participants not only develop their creative skills but also learn to express themselves and to receive and reflect on feedback.
The project creates space for individual growth and new perspectives — reaching far beyond the realm of art.

The project is supported by STIFTUNG GIERSCH.
