It stands for a move\u00adment that has deep roots in the local culture and yet is at the same time trail\u00adblazing. After Morocco\u2019s inde\u00adpen\u00addence from the French protec\u00adtorate, in the 1960s in the context of this pioneering art college, artists sought to estab\u00adlish a new, unique iden\u00adtity and at the same time forge links to the inter\u00adna\u00adtional avant-garde. This cross-gener\u00ada\u00adtional art move\u00adment, the Moroccan \u201cNew Wave\u201d, did its best to sweep away the art that only took place in \u201cexclu\u00adsive salons\u201d and with it the colo\u00adnial heritage.<br><br>That said, who were the artists and teachers driving this new move\u00adment in art? And what was special about how they saw art?
