Designed as an ongoing workshop offering, individual course blocks provide the opportunity for intensive exploration of concepts, methods, media and techniques of the visual arts. The thematic units - three dates in a row for children aged 6-9 and 9-12, and for young people aged 12-15, and six dates for young people aged 15-19 - whet the appetite and encourage unconventional ways of thinking and expressing oneself
BASIC KNOWLEDGE ART: THE ART OF THE MOSAIC
SCHIRN STUDIO COURSE, 6-9 YEARS
COURSE 1: TUESDAYS, MARCH 14, 21 AND 28 , 4-5.30 PM
COURSE 2: TUESDAYS, APRIL 25, MAY 2 AND 9, 4-5:30 PM
Mosaics were already known and popular in ancient times. Abstract patterns or figurative images are created by joining disparate pieces of mosaic together. Artist Niki de Saint Phalle composed the surface of some of her figures from mosaic tiles.

Niki de Saint Phalle calls her large, colorful female figures "Nanas." They stand on their heads or throw their arms up in the air, dancing. Create your own cheerful figure in the SCHIRN STUDIO COURSE! Use wire, old newspapers and papier-mâché to form the body of your figure and then paint it in any color you like.

FRIDAYS, MARCH 17, 24 AND 31, APRIL 28, MAY 5 AND 12, 5-7 PM
In the 1960s, Niki de Saint Phalle created large-scale, spectacular reliefs with used found objects, plaster, straw, excelsior or fabric. In 2001, she critically addressed social issues such as global warming and the use of firearms in the United States. Her entire oeuvre provides you with interesting visual material for your own artistic ideas!
