Museum Embankment Festival
23 – 25 August 2019
John M Armleder has created a unique indoor and outdoor experience. He has developed new, expansive installations specially for the SCHIRN, combining highbrow culture and the everyday world, the profound and the banal all in an ambivalent way.
Contemporary art has its very own sound. In the group exhibition BIG ORCHESTRA the SCHIRN presents pieces that also function as musical instruments.
PUBLIC GUIDED TOURS
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday there are public guided tours through the exhibitions.

OPEN SOUND SESSION WITH IGNAZ SCHICK
Also on the three days of the Museum Embankment Festival there will be an Open Sound Session on the exhibition BIG ORCHESTRA.
The session under the leadership of sound artist and performer Ignaz Schick (Berlin) will place the focus on Carsten Nicolai’s work bausatz noto ∞. The installation with four record players offers participants the possibility of creating new combinations and tracks, taking inspiration from a vinyl archive of sounds that Carsten Nicolai has collected as a musician and DJ
