READING OF FEININGER'S LETTERS
30 January, 2024, 7.30 PM, IN GERMAN
Lyonel Feininger's correspondence with his partner Julia Berg, later Julia Feininger, spans over several decades and paints an intimate picture of the man, painter, father and husband. His letters take the listeners of the reading on a journey through time, through war, the Weimar Republic, inflation and the emergence of the Bauhaus, and also tell the story of Feininger's struggle for "a new art".
Conrad Feininger has been an actor for forty years, primarily in Washington, DC. He has appeared in over one hundred plays. As an employee of the United States Library of Congress, he has narrated more than two hundred audio books. He now lives in Dessau, Germany with his wife Marie-Luise. Conrad Feininger is the grandson of Lyonel and Julia Feininger and the son of T. Lux Feininger.
