In memory of Ferhat Unvar, Hamza Kurtović, Said Nesar Hashemi, Vili-Viorel Păun, Mercedes Kierpacz, Kaloyan Velkov, Fatih Saraçoğlu, Sedat Gürbüz, and Gökhan Gültekin.

In his lecture performance KLAGELIEDER, Senthuran Varatharajah tells the stories of Ferhat, Hamza, Said Nesar, Vili-Viorel, Mercedes, Kaloyan, Sedat, Fatih and Gökhan, who were murdered within minutes by a right-wing terrorist in Hanau. KLAGELIEDER is a requiem: a song for the dead, a prayer for the dead, and a wake in poetic form.

The event is accompanied musically by Tayfun Guttstadt, whose compositions sensually explore questions of cultural origin and multiple belonging.

The **Initiative 19. Februar Hanau** is an association of relatives, survivors, and supporters formed after the racist attack in Hanau on February 19, 2020. It advocates for remembrance, justice, full transparency, and political consequences against racist violence. To this end, the initiative develops exhibitions such as its collaborative project with Forensic Architecture, as well as a wide range of political campaigns and interventions.

A cooperation between Initiative 19. Februar Hanau and SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT, funded by the Crespo Foundation.
