THE SCHIRN BOOKCLUB

THURSDAY, April 20, May 4, and FRIDAY, May 19, 7 PM

The SCHIRN BOOKCLUB is entering its fourth round in the context of the JOHN AKOMFRAH exhibition. On three dates, the participants will discuss texts from SCHIRN BOOKCLUB EDITION #4, which brings together selected literary contributions in connection with Akomfrah's video works The Unfinished Conversation (2012), Vertigo Sea (2015) and Becoming Wind (2023). In the context of the exhibition, new perspectives are opened up and bridges to art are built. Independent reading of the texts forms the basis for participation. Moderated by the Frankfurt author Cecily Ogunjobi and the art historian Mearg Negusse.

Participation is free of charge and possible for individual dates. Just drop by!

A reading session with Mearg Negusse will take place beforehand at 6 pm, in which participants can explore texts and ideas in connection with the exhibition's open reading room. The BOOKCLUB continues at 7 pm.
